Course Description

DESCRIPTION

This course focuses on ensuring that Early Childhood Educators understand the importance of creating a healthy environment within the early childhood setting. The course focuses on the different fundamental areas within the classroom, outside in the playground, in the kitchen, in the nappy change and toileting areas, and within the kitchen. The course focuses on how Educators, along with their managers, can ensure that they use their skills and knowledge to ensure that the children's and the Educator's health is maintained to a premium level at all times.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this course, Early Childhood Educators should be able to:

  • Create a healthy environment by minimizing the risk of infection and the spread of germs.
  • Use positive role-modelling to create a healthy classroom
  • Ensure that Kitchen staff and Educators who use the kitchen are maintaining cleanliness to a high level, and ensuring that food is heated and stored at safe temperatures.
  • How to monitor children's health when they are sick.
  • Proper bending and back care for Early Childhood Educators.

Annie Hall

Annie Hall has collaborated with her team of Early Childhood Educators. Annie has her Masters in Early Childhood from Griffith University, and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Annie has worked in the Early Childhood Industry for over 17 years with 15 years as a Manager. Annie is currently studying her PhD in Early Childhood through RMIT university with her focus on children's social development. Annie's previous experience as a Regional Manager, ensured that her early childhood settings went through Assessment and Rating over twenty times. Previously, Annie had been through Accreditation ten times.Annie is passionate in Sustainability and advocating for the Rights of the Child.
