Course Description

DESCRIPTION

This course focuses on ensuring that Early Childhood Educators understand the importance of safety in the Early Childhood environment with particular attention focusing on safe handling, and cleaning procedures. It is extremely important that Educators understand the importance of safe sleeping practices, especially in the under 1 year old age group. This course focuses on the different areas of the Early Childhood setting, and breaks these areas down into easily understood safety practices.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this course, Early Childhood Educators should be able to:

  • Understand the importance of supervising children;
  • Understand the importance of safety in the kitchen;
  • Understand the importance of safety in the office;
  • Understand the importance of safety in the classroom;
  • Understand the importance of safe sleep practices;
  • Understand the importance of safety on arrival and departures;
  • Understand the importance of ensuring that Educators are facilitating the correct lifting technique.

Annie Hall

Annie Hall has collaborated with her team of Early Childhood Educators. Annie has her Masters in Early Childhood from Griffith University, and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Annie has worked in the Early Childhood Industry for over 17 years with 15 years as a Manager. Annie is currently studying her PhD in Early Childhood through RMIT university with her focus on children's social development. Annie's previous experience as a Regional Manager, ensured that her early childhood settings went through Assessment and Rating over twenty times. Previously, Annie had been through Accreditation ten times.Annie is passionate in Sustainability and advocating for the Rights of the Child.
